Brand New HD Secondary Harmonic Balancer for all 6.5's with serpentine belt drive, all years, all vehicles. If you have a rattle in the front of your engine, it may be the Secondary Harmonic Balancer. Inspect and if loose or showing signs of separating, replace it immediately. Harmonic balancers fail over time and will cause a crankshaft to break. If you have ever heard of a crank breaking on a 6.5, it can always be traced back to a bad balancer, not a bad crank. The Secondary Harmonic Balancer includes the pulley as part of the outer ring of the balancer. Engines require a harmonic balancer to absorb the harmonic vibration created by the reciprocating motion of the pistons and rods and rotation of the crankshaft. It is located on the front end of the crankshaft and the belt drive pulley attaches to it. If defective, the crank vibration will fail the crankshaft causing catastrophic failure of your engine. This outer secondary balancer is usually what fails first from age and wear. Also check the main harmonic balancer behind this balancer and replace also, if it shows signs of wear or separation. Its available in this category as p/n ssd-5328
